Social times for the month of June

This past month has been a choice month, filled with a variety of community outings and centre-based activities.

I enjoy practising for my end of term drama performance - "The Princesses Slumber Party Disaster," where I am acting as Sleeping Beauty.

I liked my social community connections this month, featuring a delicious hot lunch of fish and chips at the Citz Club alongside friends from Connect 20, as well as a BBQ lunch at Isla Park.I also included weekly centre shopping trips and time volunteering at the SPCA Op Shop.I enjoyed some whanau time,  travelling to Hamilton for a wonderful catch up with my sister. 

During my downtime, I got creative. I love "My Time My Choice" sessions, they are a perfect opportunity for a little relaxing iPad time, music, and relaxation. A warm sensory room is also a favourite during these cooler days, watching a variety of movies - Ordinary Angels, Remarkably Bright Creatures, and the action-packed Jurassic Park 3.

I've had a fun month with my friends, that's for sure. Ka kite ano, Gayleen.

Fun times for the month of May

Hi Gayleen here,

This month has been filled with a nice balance of centre-based activities and fun community connections with my

friends. 

It’s been a cold month so staying warm and cosy is the go, I did have a few days off as I was  unwell. I have had

plenty of relaxation and creativity, including mindful colouring in, My time, My choice of iPads, magazines and

peaceful sensory room sessions watching the movie Pan and unwinding to the soothing sounds of nature. Waiata has been great, singing all sorts of songs ready for our

iSing performance end of June 

Out in the Hapori (community), I've had a social month - practicing my new drama show “The Princesses Slumber Party Disaster”, starring as Sleeping Beauty, social outings to play pool at the Marble Bar, Quirks cafe, Greerton centre cheering them on at their talent quest & centre shopping @ New World. Connect 20 social group

 I enjoyed seeing my friends from Connect 20 social group at the Citz club. I had a yummy hot lunch of fish & chips.

Quriks Cafe

I had a lovly morning socialising with my friends at the Greerton Quirks cafe. We then got creative using old post stamps in a craft session. 

Drama show - Shopping Mayhem

 This week i acted as the Checkout chick in our drama show called "Shopping Mayhem". I wore a cool pink uniform & had my own scanning machine & computer use while acting. I had many friends come along to support me.

 I had a fun morning singing with friends from Greerton who come to visit us.

 I enjoyed a lovley relaxing gentle hand massage with hand cream of my choice

Personal books

I like getting creative and adding things that i like into my personal book.

checkout chick

I am loving acting on stage at drama as a checkout chick. I look forward to our big show in 2 weeks time.

Citz Club lunch

I enjoyed a yummy lunch of fish and chips at the Citz Club. It was nice to catch up with my friends from Connect 20 social group.

Quirks cafe

I had a lovely morning seeing friends at Greerton in Quirks cafe. I had a nice cold can of cake & a chocolate brownie. We the did some crafts & got creative with flower art.

 I like going to new world Gate Pa to get supplies for our week ahead.

 I had a fun morning singing and dancing with my friends.

Drama

 I love being back on stage at drama, i like dancing & singing with my friends. 

Board games

 I enjoyed playing board games with friends. I like adding to my personal book.

Memorial park outing

 I had a lovely morning soaking up the sunshines & smelling the sea air while people & dog watching.

Connect 20

 I enjoyed my lunch out at the Citz club and got to socialise with friends from Connect 20 social group. 

I had fish bites and chips with a nice cold drink.

The strand waterfront

 I had a lovely morning out with my friends at the stand waterfront. We enjoyed the sunshine while being at the playground.

Wilrose Christmas Party

I was incredible singing on stage at our Wilrose Christmas party. I sung Iko Iko by the Dixie cups. My friends cheered me on. We then enjoyed a yummy lunch of fresh snapper & hot chips followed by the Ice Cream truck arriving at Wilrose & ordering my own choice of ice cream. 

Drama show

I enjoyed going to the Detour theatre to support my friends at their christmas drama show. I sung along to the songs.
