Christmas time

It's my last week at Arohanui for the year. I enjoyed helping to celebrate Christmas with a BBQ lunch and secret Santa. 

Life skills

I help to wash and dry three trays of eggs. I had to be very gentle with them so they didn't crack. I enjoyed doing this job and would like to help to do it again.

Girls group

Went went shopping in girls group for some stick on earrings because I don't have my ears pierced. These are the pretty ones I chose. They make me feel beautiful. We also painted our nails as well!

Bay clay 2017

I had some of my pottery that I helped the group with on display at the bay clay 2017
exhibition. I really enjoyed making the pieces in my pottery group.......

Historic village

We visited the historic village to see this amazing mural!

Mirimiri

I loved trying the blow up foot massager. It vibrated and made me feel lovely and relaxed. I want one at home!

Birthday tree

Miri Miri

I enjoyed a lovely hand massage in Miri Miri on my birthday. We used some beautiful smelling mango cream!

Cultural studies

Ive been learning about Greece in cultural studies. I've helped research some facts for our fact board and coloured in a picture of hades the Greek god of the underworld.

Drama Play

I went along to the drama play this week - it was the Pied Piper and I was happy to go and support my friends who have been practicing hard. 

Ipp Board

I'm so happy with my IPP board. It's still a work in progress but look at how amazing it is! 

Home crafts

I've been helping to do to the birthday tree this week in home crafts. I got to do different colour sponging that we are going to use for the months of the year.

Art

Today I started a new project with water colours. It's a picture of a lion cub.I did a great job and can't wait to do A little bit more work to it.

Homecrafts

This is stage one of our new birthday tree we are making in homecrafts. We have been busy taking new pictures of everyone here at Wilrose and making different coloured leaves.

Culture studies

We had lots of fun making polar bears and arctic foxes in culture studies - using paper plates and cotton wool. 

Girls group

We went and had a coffee at a cafe It was so nice to hang out with the girls

Sensory

What a great new experience looking through these glasses with a phone It was cool

Leaf art

We used sponges and some red and green paint to start making our leaves for our new birthday board here at the centre. It's going to look great - the shape of a tree.

Art & craft

I finished my goal of making a keyring. I am really happy with how it turned out. It's a love heart with the letter G on it for Gaylene

Girls group

We went window shopping and went to see the animals at the pet shop. it was great to see the soft bunnies and some fish

Sensory art and play

I enjoyed sensory art this week. We made a tactile picture of a balloons made out of wool. We also done some knitting. This is me and my mate Carrie doing our knitting.

Moana fm radio station

We went on an outing to the Moana Fm Radio station in Tauranga city. We got a tour of the studio and they showed me how to mix music which I thought was really cool. Everyone was really nice and friendly and I had a great time. 

Programme Shopping

We went to The Warehouse Stationery to get supplies for making a keyring in our Homecrafts sessions - we bought Fimo to make key rings with - I'm hoping to make a butterfly one. 

Disco

I had a fun time at the Wilrose Silly Hat disco. Dancing away and eating pumpkin soup!

Home craft shopping

Today we went to mitre 10 mega to buy an angle brace. This is the one that we thought was best for the job. Now we can hang our coffee cup holder onto the kitchen wall.

Marble candle holder

We have just about finished our marble candle holders in home crafts. They look so cool.

Art and Craft

I finished my second Bob Marley picture and the finishing touch was to spray it with a clear coating to protect it. I'm so happy with it! 

Girls

I really enjoyed the last girls group - I had my makeup done and I felt so beautiful! 

Life skills

I helped to sort out one of the craft cupboards in life skills today and discovered lots of lovely coloured paper and glitter to use on some projects!

Craft

I made an awesome card with a picture of a rose on it to remember my mum on Mother's Day. 

Maori culture

I enjoyed helping to paint the designs for our share at Wilrose. It was fun 

Candle Holders

We started making these awesome candle holders in our  DIY / upcycling session. We used old CDs as a base and started layering marbles around the edge. 

Finished chairs

This week I helped to finish off our kids chairs in D.I.Y .

I think they look awesome and we are going to put them in the gallery to sell.

Van cleaning

This week in life skills I helped to wash the vans and shine up the windows.

Disco

I had a good time at the disco. I was a cat and I had my face painted. I had a good day and really enjoyed myself. The food was good too.

Swiss Ball

I helped go to Rebel Sport and get the Swiss ball pumped up ready to use In our fitness / sports classes. 

Bob Marley

I'm so happy with this Bob Marley pictur that I made. I'm eventually going to put it on my wall at home and make another one to sell in the gallery.
