Drama Play

I really enjoyed going to the Xmas drama play to support my friends - we sang along to all the Xmas songs and had a great time!

Christmas party

I had a lovely at the Arohanui Christmas Party. I enjoyed the cook island dancing and the food was nice. 

Classic Flyers

I really enjoyed a trip to the classic flyers museum with my friend Carrie! 

Beautiful Blanket

Spanish Fan

In cultures we are looking at the countries of Europe and made a paper Spanish Fan. It's hot in Spain so they need fans. I like making things at the centre. 

Sausages and singing

We enjoyed such a lovely day on Thursday - we had sausages and singing and socialising with each other. In the afternoon I enjoyed a bit of Johnny Cash!

Pamper day...

On our Pamper Day, I was so Pampered I fell asleep, wow it was awesome and I looked really pretty with my face made up.

Hangi and disco

On Thursday we enjoyed a beautiful Hangi we also had a disco and karaoke while we waited for our Hangi to cook.

Pasifika festival

I enjoyed watching the Pasifika dancers at the festival. I liked their moves and instruments.

Blanket

I've been sewing squares together to make a beautiful coloured blanket. I'm excited that it's nearly finished! 

Model boats

We went for a new at the lakes and checked out the model boat club. The boats were cool and the sun came out! What a lovely afternoon.

Out and about

I have had a great week I went to watch my friends in the operatunity drama play they were so good. I also enjoy getting out and about to the parks and walking.

Matapihi Bridge Walk

I really enjoyed a stroll over the Matapihi Bridge With the girls group. It was a lovely day and good exercise! 

Samoan Chop Suey

We had some visitors come from Gate Pa School to show us their cultural dancing and then we all enjoyed some chop suey! It was beautiful!

Tapa Cloth

We made some Tapa Cloth in culture studies using paper and crayons. Check them out! They’re beautiful!

Candle making

Today I made a candle and added a strawberry scent. I am thinking about who I am going to give it to.

Samoan dancing

Today we had a lovely lady come to visit and teach us some proper Samoan dances. We learnt the steps and moves then did them to music. It was really fun

Making a lei

I'm making a beautiful coloured lei in culture studies. I had to cut out flower shapes, cut straws and thread it all together. 

Pacific Islands

We started looking at the Pacific Islands in cultures this week. I enjoyed doing some pacific island dancing!

Darts game

I enjoyed a game of darts at the Marble Bar this week. I was pretty good too! 

Highland Games

I had fun at the first ever Wilrose Centre Highland Games. I took part in the egg and spoon race, the target board throwing event and I have the highland dancing a go too! 

Volunteer group shopping trip

The volunteer group went shopping to buy some supplies  - a new basketball, an iPad charger and a plug for the kitchen. We used the price check machine to check how much the basketball was! 

Knitting

I am knitting a hat! I love the colour of the wool and how it feels! 

Friends and cooking

This morning in life skills we cooked pikelets and had a lovely time with an old friend who visited. Then more time in the kitchen with the cooking group making healthy salads wraps.

Bethlehem community gardens

The volunteer group went to Bethlehem Community Gardens and helped turn the compost. Then we had a good look around at the scarecrows and took some rhubarb and lettuce home with us.
