Tea party

What an awesome time the girls had yesterday hosting a nutrimetics makeup tea party. We got to have a hand scrub and massage!and also enjoyed some pink cupcakes and ice tea.

Working hard

I have been working hard at the centre to get ready for he holidays and new programme changed in the new year. I finished my IPP board and took it home and have made a new one in the shape of a chefs hat. It is good to have it up on the wall ready to fill up. 

Spreading christmas cheer

I had a marvellous time decorating the gallery for christmas. We put our lovely handmade clay decorations on the Christmas tree and displayed the christmas merchandise. I thought it looked so pretty. 

Out to feed the ducks

We had an outting to Carmichael reserve to feed the giant ducks!

Mount Maunganui beach

A few of us from girls group went to mount Maunganui and collected driftwood and some pretty shells for my jewellery making group. It was really nice and sunny and I had fun looking for cool and interesting shells. I then got to help clean and sort the shells and go through all the treasures. 

Contiki

I had an exciting outing to PAPAMOA beach for a fish with the Contiki. The weather was fabulous, I enjoyed the beach and laying in the sun. We didn't catch a fish but we did catch a Stingray!! AWESOME

Getting musical

I had a fabulous time at music. I played sweet music on the xylophone and then really brought the house down on the electric drum kit. I had so much fun!

Getting my nails done

I am having a blast in girls group choosing a hot pink nail polish to get brushed on. How exciting!!

Brainstorming

This week I have been busy working on ideas for my new IPP board. I decided I wanted a huge chefs hat with my name on it! "Chef Gayleen!" I am looking forward to working on it next week and getting it up on the wall. 

Making hamburgers

Today in my cooking group we made healthy home-made beef hamburgers. They had lettuce, beetroot, cheese, patties and egg. They were soo good!

Pottery

In pottery I am making my self a huge pot!

Around the world disco

Te Puke invited us to their around the world disco it was lots of fun, I was from Brazil.  It was great catching up with everyone from the other centres.

Positivity

Hi all, I have had lots of exciting and positive changes lately at home and at Arohanui. 

I have moved into a lovely new flat with some of my fellow Arohanui friends. I am very happy about this change and now with attending Arohanui five days a week I am settling well into my new activities and looking forward to the future. 

I have made a Beautiful mirror for my friend Damon in my Mosaic session. Damon and I flatted together for several months. I presented it to him this morning to thank him for having me in his home and being a good friend to me. 

It gave me smile to see how happy he was. 

Facials

Yesterday in girls group I got to try out an avocado facial it was nice and relaxing.

DISNEY ON ICE

On Friday I was very lucky Togo to Hamilton and watch Disney on ice treasure trove.

Home made beauty products

I got spoilt today in girls group with a hand massage with a a hand scrub we made ourselves using Lemon zest, lemon Juice, oil and sugar. It smelt and felt lovely!

Cupcake decorating

Today in girls group Nicole showed us how to decorate cupcakes that we made in the centre. We have made the frosting and I have been cutting out the fondant shapes to decorate them. 

Hand massages in girls group

I had a lovely time in girls group yesterday I was spoilt with a hand massage. It was so relaxing and they used a moisturiser that smelt lovely and left my hands feeling very soft. 

I finished my Coupe!

I have been working very hard for weeks on my Coupe in woodwork and finally it is finished! I am so happy how it has turned out it looks FANTASTIC! All my hard word has paid off and I learnt a lot of good skills. 

Dance and movement.

I had a really fun time in dance and movement, watching a dance video and learning sweet moves to some cool music. I loved learning different steps and styles of dance, it was so much fun. 

Essay writing

This week I was writing an essay Abut all of the things I have learnt so r during my study group. I have been working really hard and next week we will be marked, s fingered crossed! B I am sure I will do really well.

Duck Duck Goose

I had heaps of fun this morning playing Duck Duck Goose during our exercise session, I chose my friend Roger as the Goose and managed to beat him back to my chair after he chased me and won. How much fun!

Last week in girls group I had a lovely time doing makeovers. I had my make up by Justine, every inetold me how lovely I looked, I felt really beautiful too! 

Next Door Gallery

I am very excited about the gallery opening last week. I am keen to do some work in there, greeting the customers, selling and wrapping items and also helping to restock when items are sold. I was pleased to see my picture on the Arohanui website with a feature about the gallery. 

Calender

I have been working very hard during personal books on my lovely Calendar. I have been drawing pictures, filling in the des with what I have been up to lately and events coming up. I am so proud of how it is coming together. 

Study Group

I have been busy Working Hard in study group. We have been doing Papa Kupu which is a study on living skills. I have enjoying it very much and I am hoping to gain a qualification through my studies this year. 

Sam the teddy bear

I am so proud of my first completed mosaic. He is called Sam and he is a bear. I chose the shape myself, chose the coloured tiles I wanted and worked to a plan. Next week we will be putting grout into  the cracks between the tiles and then we will polish them. I can't wait to start my next project which will go in the Gallery.

In the last few weeks I have been learning the art of mozaicing. I have been working on a teddy bear called Sam. I am very excited as I have nearly finished him and can't wait to take him home!  I will put some photos up when he is finished. I have had a really nice week here t the centre. 

Beautiful Butterfly

I have been having a great week and have been doing many fun things which I am writing all about in my calender. I have been working on my calender in personal books. I have been working on the front cover and have been drawing a beautiful butterfly. I am really proud of it so far!

Buried village

Buried village

Yesterday we went to the buried village. It was pretty awesome we saw some whares that had been buried in the tarawera eruption, saw lots of tools, dinner sets, medical jars that had been saved after the eruption.  We learnt about the history of tarawera and the volcanic eruption.  We will post pictures soon

A visit to McLarens falls.

I had an exciting trip out with my friends to McLarens falls which is just out of Tauranga. It was a beautiful day and perfect for feeding the ducks with bread that where hanging out in the pond. The falls. Where really beautiful and it was interesting to see the rock formations that were carved out by the water over many many years. It was so cool to get out and about. 

A mini-Me!

I have been working hard on my IPP board. I would love to have work experience as a member of The Countdown supermarket. I have made a little model of myself wearing the Countdown uniform and will add new costumes to my board throughout the year. I am very proud of my work so far.

Making a wooden car.

At the moment I am putting a lot of hard work into making a Coupe (car) at woodwork. I have been measuring, chiseling the wood and sawing using a vice to cut the wood into the right shapes. We have  been sanding the wood to make it smooth. We are all making our own cars and I am so happy with my design. 

I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Girls group tea party!

Today I was at a tea party with the other girls in girls group. We are having vanilla tea popcorn and cupcakes that we made. Yum!
