Disco time

Well the day is finally here! We've had a great day of dancing and our BBQ was yummy. At the momen I'm just chilling out watching the tvs because my feet are sore from dancing all morning! 

BBQ

For cooking yesterday we finished off all the planning for our disco and BBQ. Lots of hard work has gone into this so I hope it will be a success 

Planning a BBQ

Today for cooking we planned a BBQ that we are having to fundraise some money for an end of year sports day. I came up with a coleslaw recipe and that's what I will be in charge of on the day. Here's some pics of me putting my planning into my book. 

Katikati bird gardens

Yesterday I spent the day at Kati Kati bird gardens. We spent the day walking around the different averys and had our lunch sitting in the grass. Nicole fed two doves off her hand which was cool to see. I will post photos when they get on the iPad! Thanks Julie and Nicole TC

DIY headbands

In my hair and makeup class we made headbands. We got to pick our own fabric and then worked hard to put them together. We had to leave them at Wilrose over the weekend so the fabric glue could dry and when I got to Wilrose today they were ready to wear. Yay I love mine!

Yesterday in cooking we made apple turnovers.. It didn't take to long and was really easy! I would like to make them for dessert one night.

Nails

Today in hair and makeup we did some planning and decided we want to make some head bands. I then got my nails painted 😃😃😃

Cooking

In cooking this week we made some mince pies. We cooked up the mince with lots of garlic and onion and touch of tomato paste and some chilli powder. We lined our muffin tin with flaky pastry and baked in the oven for 15 min until they were golden brown. They turned out perfect!! 

Mosaics

Today we started our new project and we have started mosaicing a wooden box. Im looking forward to this. 

We made our own pois

In Maori culture yesterday we learnt how to make our own pois. It was a cool experience and I'm happy with my finished result

Personal books

My personal book is coming a long really well! I've changed from a clear file to a calendar and it's looking really nice. Here's some pics of me working with Julie our new team leader.

Pj party!

Today for girls group we had a pyjama party! We had lunch and then watched some funny YouTube videos. I had a great time!

Last month

Last month I went and watched the drama production. The drama group did a play called Danny and sandy. They did so well! I had a great time watching it and seeing everyone from the other centres. My post didn't seem to publish last month so here it is 

Pastel Art

In art I have been working on a picture with the pastels. I decided to draw a picture of the mount.. Here is my finished piece.. I am so proud of it!

Hobbiton

Last week we went on a trip to Hobbiton.. We left Wilrose at 9:30 am to make the hour journey over there. We had a quick morning tea when we arrived and then started our 2 hour specialised tour! We got lots of great photographs and walked right around the whole place. We ended the tour in the pub there where I enjoyed a nice ginger beer in front of the fire. After the tour we sat on some picnic tables and enjoyed our packed lunch before heading home. We arrived back at 2pm (just in time for a cuppa) what a great day out! 

Disco

We had our black and white disco last week. I had such an awesome day dancing to MJ. Here's some pics 

Make up and hair

For our hair and make up session we made a avocado, rolled oats and green tea face mask! We put it on and sat for 20 minutes before washing it off. My face felt so smooth and refreshed afterwards! 

Comet mag!

Yay the new comet is out and my gosh we have done a great job putting it together! Here's a pic of me reading mine 😃

Pre cricket match preparation

We are having a friendly cricket game against Greerton today. We made some headbands and we have called ourselves the Wilrose ninjas! Bring on today 

Preparations for tea party

Today I helped to make the icing for our cupcakes and also did a few final touches for the mad hatters tea party. What a great day

Art day

Today was a day of art! I started the morning out colouring in my mandala flower and then for tactile I painted the salt dough for our mad hatters tea party. I've had such a great day.

Salt dough

For our tactile session yesterday we made salt dough decorations for the mad hatters tea party. We started by making the dough and then using cookie cutters we made shapes and cooked them in the microwave. Our next step is to paint them and use them as table decorations.

Wet days at Wilrose

Today was wet and rainy so we stayed indoors and did a obstacle course. We had so much fun!

Maui and the sun

Today we had our production for our play Maui and the sun. We did such a great job in maori culture and we are all very happy with how it went! 

I won!!

We drew the Easter raffle today and I got second prize! I am so happy.

The historic Villiage

We went for an outing to the Historic Villiage today. We looked at the old blacksmiths shed and also had a look into the Faulkner house that was built in the 1800s. I could spend all day there if i could!

Learning lots!!

Sulphur point

Today we went out to sulphur point and had a nice walk. We looked at some yachts and looked for a BBQ. We are going to come back here for a bbq lunch one day soon. 

New necklace

For girls group we went to the $2 shop and had a look at some op shops around Greerton. I brought myself a necklace. Fancy huh?
